ANNUAL. A medicinal herb throughout south Asia, especially India where it is called Tulsi & considered quite sacred. A tea made from its leaves are said to aid digestion, promote healthy liver functioning & reduce the risk of diabetes. Hindus grow it as a religious plant in their homes & temples. They use its leaves in routine worship. Slower growing than most other basils. Bees really love it.
